Any suggestions for cheap hotels/motels in New Orleans?

I am hoping to travel to New Orleans at the end of the month. I am not looking for 5 star accommodations. Anywhere that has a bed for the least amount as possible. Any suggestions?

The least expensive place to stay near downtown New Orleans is the India House Hostel on Canal Street: http://www.indiahousehostel.com/ The Hotel Villa Convento is usually the least expensive real hotel in the French Quarter: http://www.villaconvento.com/ Check http://www.frenchquarterhotels.com/ for other non-chain hotels, but most of them are not cheap. But beware ... cheap hotels can be trouble some times so check reviews of the hotel you are going to book. Check the exact location of hotel from google maps.
5. During my last trip I came across a website called http://www.cheaphotel-s.com . It has quite a large variety of hotels. You might wanna give it a try.
6. It may not be the best place to stay in a cheap hotel. if you must, stay around the airport in Kenner at the usual places such as Holiday Inn Express, Courtyard Marriott-places like that.
