What is the distance and the taxi fare from New Orleans International Airport (Louis Armstrong) to downtown?

- The distance is only about 15 miles. I don't know about the cab fare but that would definitely depend on what time of year you are here traveling. There are 2 cab companies that I have heard of (United Cabs & Service Cabs). Maybe if you call them they can give you their rates for the time you will be visiting.
- It is only a few miles, about 15 minutes travel time (unless traffic is bad), from the airport to the Central Business District or other areas in downtown New Orleans. The flat rate for a taxi is $28 for 1 or 2 people (plus $1 fuel surcharge). If you have 3 or more people, it's $12 per person. Keep in mind that they can charge more if you have a lot of baggage. There is also an airport shuttle that goes downtown. It's $13 per person (with another nasty fuel surcharge to add on, $2 this time). For more information or to make a reservation, call 1-866-596-2699. They also have ticket booths in the baggage claim area of the airport. For more info, see the airport's web site at http://www.flymsy.com/ Enjoy your trip :)
