What is your favorite hotel in New Orleans?

I am interested mainly in the Garden District or in the French Quarter. If your favorite is in the Quarter, how noisy is it at night? Price is not really a consideration.

3. My favorite is probably the Omni Royal Orleans in the French Quarter. It is on Saint Louis Street at Royal Street, which is busy but isn't a party zone like the first 7 or 8 blocks (starting at Canal Street) of Bourbon Street. Noise from the street IS a consideration when choosing a hotel in the FQ. It isn't really an issue anywhere else in New Orleans, including the Garden District. If you stay in the FQ and are concerned about noise just stipulate an interior or "courtyard" room when you make the reservation. Call he hotel a few days before your trip and speak with the manager (not just whoever answers the phone) and make sure they know you want an interior room. Hope you have a great time!
