What's A Nice Hotel or Bed and Breakfast in New Orleans?

I'm planning a trip to New Orleans for the NBA All-Star Game Next year(Feb. 2008), I want to stay at a very nice hotel or a French Quarter style Bed and Breakfast...

  1. Almost all of the chain hotels are represented in New Orleans. Search via Yahoo Travel or Travelocity with your specific dates for ideas, and also check the hotel websites. This is a link to some nice non-chain hotels in the French Quarter: http://www.frenchquarterhotels.com/ The e-mail address for New Orleans Bed & Breakfast is: nobba@cox.net
  2. There are plenty of nice hotels in the downtown area, which includes the French Quarter and the business district. There is the Le Pavillon Hotel on Poydras Street, which has antiques and original artwork throughout, as well as a row of beautiful crystal chandeliers in the main lobby. www.lepavillon.com. There is the RItz-Carlton on Canal St., www.ritzcarlton.com. The top hotel in New Orleans is the Windsor Court, the only AAA 5-diamond hotel in the city: www.windsorcourthotel.com. There are plenty of nice hotels in the Quarter with lovely courtyards, like the Place D' Arms, at Saint Ann and Chartres, and many more. I'm not very familiar with the B and Bs. They are located all over town--it would depend on where you would want to stay. I'd go with a reservation service, www.HistoricLodging.com. Here's a tip: If you are driving to New Orleans, keep your car parked in the hotel garage or lot, and either walk or take public transit or a cab to get around the city; it's easier that way. Hope you have a great time!
