Armstrong Airport

How much would a taxi ride be from the New Orleans airport to downtown hotel?

Booking a trip and want to know if we should go ahead and buy the $30 round trip ground transportation or would a taxi be cheaper? The ground transportation is something that came up through expedia, just a service that picks you up and drops you off.

  1. Buy the ground transportation (airport shuttle). The taxi will run about $28 plus tip, each way. (I just came home from NOLA yesterday!)
  2. It's about the same price and from my experience..the taxis at the airport are cleaner and the drivers are nicer. There is a taxi stand as soon as you go outside of the airport.
  3. I'm going there next weekend. I don't know what this ground transportation you're talking about. Can you please tell me where you're looking?
  4. Taxi fares between the airport and the city center are regulated: The fare is $28 each way for 1 or 2 people. The airport shuttle is $15 each way per person. http://www.flymsy.com/ground_transportation.htm
  5. Hmmm? When I flew in last year. I took the shuttle. It only cost me $13.00? It may have gone a up a bit, but not 50%. They pile a bunch of us on different buses and just toured around from hotel to hotel till they get to yours. Holiday Inn Express was mine on Loyola. I had to ask to see if my hotel was on their approved list. That was all.
  6. A taxi will run you about $30 just one way. Go to www.flymsy.com for more options on ground transportation and pricing. I know they offer a round-trip shuttle service to and from your hotel. There is also an option of taking a bus from the airport to downtown.
  7. Do the taxi. The ground transportation might be a van with multiple stops. You will have no issues getting a taxi right outside baggage claim and wont have to wait or find your prearranged shuttle. :) Airport rates are as follows: 1 or 2 passengers = $28.00 plus $2.00 Fuel Service Charge. Total $30.00. 3, 4 or 5 passengers= $12.00 per passenger plus a $2.00 Fuel Service Charge (Example 3 passengers = $36.00 + $2.00 Total $38.00
