Has anyone stayed at the W New Orleans Hotel?

We are taking a small little family vacation in March. We live in Baton Rouge, but that is a fairly new hotel i think, so dont know much about it. We are going to take the kids to the Zoo, and the Aquarium, and to the new Insectarium they have there, and do all sorts of fun things with them. And maybe if im sneaky, mommy might get a hurricane! The kids cant wait, something about them knowing the get to eat out for every meal is an adventure in itself!! I just wanted to know if anyone stayed there, if they liked it or not. thanks yall! Good! thank you! Im so excited! Probably more than the kids! I love New Orleans, but dont get to go often anymore. Although, i have to say, this time it will be a different experience for us. We dont usually go with our kids, if you catch my drift, lol. So, no strip clubs! heehee

  1. W is a great hotel. Very clean and funky. It is close to so many good things- you will not be disappointed at all.
  2. I have not stayed there, but I know several people who have and they love it!! Very nice, and close to everything to!!
  3. Actually, I took my kids for an "in town" vacation at the W New Orleans this past summer (7 & 12 yr olds) and they LOVED the W. It is the perfect location to everything - the Riverwalk, Insectarium and Aquarium are just a few blocks away and the street car stop is close by (both the Riverfront Line, St Charles Avenue and Canal Street lines). You can take the kids to the French Market and Cafe Du Monde via the Riverfront Streetcar line that way they don't poop out on the way there. My kids are begging us to do that again soon - highly recommend it. Mother's Restaurant is across the street and has great po-boys, Mulate's is down Convention Center Blvd - great fried food. Also - Children's Museum is right around the corner and a few blocks from Mulates. I took my kids to eat in Zoe Restuarant and they enjoyed a great breakfast there! Enjoy!
  4. The W is straight baller status, ya heard. It has a funky fresh vibe to the whole place.
  5. That sounds fun. Will you go do Cafe duMonde and that place that makes the pralines on site? I always liked Cafe Maspero on Decature street too. The best sandwiches. I don't know about the hotel, but, have a great time.
