Which W Hotel in New Orleans?
Doing a road trip to New Orleans - which W hotel should we stay at? W New Orleans which seems to be more downtown or the W French Quater which is right near burbon street? We are just friends now, but I'm hoping this weekend will turn into something more, so I want romantic, but not over the top.

- If you want this relationship to turn a little different, then take it over the top!. The French Quarter is fabulous and the restaurants are great! A very romantic place. Have fun!
- some sites list both as in the FQ but as i can see you know they are both not. the W new orleans is located on Poydras St basicly in the business distract. not much to see around there, but i think its not too far of a walk to the river. both i think are in pretty quite areas, the one in the FQ is not on bourbon is a few blocks walk to it. its more near jackson square. either way you go would be good. I think one is a couple bucks cheaper than the other. both will give you great views of the city with a decent enough room.
- The real consideration for going to the Downtown W o Poydras is that it is right next to Harrah's casino and Mother's Restaurant. The French Quarter location is within walking distance to many more restaurants, bars, and shops.
- Friends of mine just stayed at the W on Poydras Street. It was fine, but several blocks from the FQ. There are really only two hotels on Bourbon Street: The Royal Sonesta and a Ramada. Both are OK/good. The hotel with the best location in the French Quarter is the Omni Royal Orleans. It fulfills your request for "romantic, but not over the top". Good luck!
- I would select the location in the French Quarter, its a great location. Although I have not stayed at either this location will be a lot more convenient to all the things you will want to do. W New Orleans - French Quarter 316 Chartres Street ยท New Orleans, LA 7013
- Go for the French Quarter; it's far more romantic than the business district. And as already recommended, the Omni Royal Orleans on St. Louis Street, just a few blocks from Jackson Square, is a good choice; another good one is the Dauphine Orleans on Dauphine Street, one block from Bourbon.
