Him and I been together 3 yrs and just got married.I don't know why they think I'm after his money because for one we both can into the relationship with nothing, but as time grew by, he made wise decisions and just so happy we been comfortable money wise. His mother thinks I'm a gold digger. I think she just tells him that just to turn him against me and to find whatever reason to not like me. watever! What should I do about this case? She has a halloween party coming up and I don't want to go because her and I had a argument over the phone about what she tells my husband and what she thinks about me and my family. SHould I go or not? My hubby says she still thinks I'm coming; but I told him to tell her not to expect me. He says , he might not go and he may just stay home. She lives 260 miles away from us.How should I handle this? Another problem I have is that, I go to school and I'm a housewife with no kids. My hubby works at home and he also doesn't have many males he deals with because he works all the time. He is very anti social which pretty explains everything. My point is My family stays in New Orleans La and I move to georgia a year ago. At first my family and I were staying in Montgomery where he and his family were for about a year and then after that they move back to new orleans. I'm further away from my family and since he always work he never comes with me to visit my family. which is about once a year now for some reason. He feels as though we should always travel together especially if it is a vacation. I think that is okay but when it comes to my sisters, mother, grandmothers, brothers and grandfathers I shouldn't always have to wait on him just to go visit them. What do you guys think? He is always working and if I wait on him it will be years before I see them, if you leave it up to him. My hubby isn't a family person but I am.Is it wrong to always go visit my family and old friends once or twice a year for a week or so?

Can You Help Me Travel On A Whim...? My boyfriend and I both happen to have a week's worth of vacation time coming up at the end of March. I've done the whole planning thing and it works out great but I'm feeling a little more adventurous this time. I'd like to be able to find a cheaper deal by buying last minute (if that particular myth is true???) and also add a little spontaneity by choosing last minute and figuring out the details later. Is there a way I can find last minute deals from New Orleans? A way to leave the Arrival City open?
Where can my b/f and I go on a quick cheap 2 night vacation for our 2 year in September? We live in NJ and we want to go on a quick little get away for our two years. I'm up for flying. I know we can get good deals for things under $300 for hotel. We already been to New Orleans this past winter. I'm pretty much up for anything like Florida for example. I just would like other people's ideas and opinions. We would probably go Friday through Sunday in the second week of September. Thanks ahead of time :)
What Is this Feeling?? We have known each other since we were kids. I see him once in a bluemoon, We are friends on myspace where he barley speaks to me and Ignores me completely eveytime I try to spark conversation he Ignores me and erases my comments but not anyone else's. I went on Vacation To new orleans where, I lived born& raised. So i seen him, we hugged and he kissed me It was very passionate. I acted stupid as usual shying a way from him, and being scared (i cant help it) and this was always my problem thats why we never got together because of the way I act. Everytime Im around him, Im quiet and all serious looking for somereason. I think about him all the time but everytime Im around him this is how i act...(TRUTH IS) I really dont wanna get hurt, and before way back then he liked me and I had self esteem Issues so being with someone is something I could never Imagine. Now, I no longer deal with those Issues but everytime im around him this is how I act... So why am I feeling this way??
Worried to tell parents about change in college major? I'm an art major at the college I attend and my parents have always been really cool about unconditionally accepting my choices, especially since I was always into art...but recently I've been thinking about changing my major to theatre arts. I've never done much with actual theatre until this past semester, but it was because the town where I'm from had little to no opportunities in this area...however, I took an acting class and absolutely LOVED it! Even when I spoke to my teacher about possibly pursuing a theatre major, she was excited that I was considering it. It's not even necessarily that I want to be an actor, I just find all aspects of acting, theatre, film, production, etc. to be absolutely fascinating. My parents are even aware that I have expressed interest in working on film sets one day. I was on vacation in New Orleans over a year ago and Universal Pictures was filming "Cirque du Freak" behind my hotel, so I spoke with many crew members about it and hung around the set for a while everyday just to watch everything in motion. My parents are fine with the idea of me trying to work on film sets, they mainly just want me to get a degree. Okay, sorry to rant, but the whole reason I'm worried to tell my parents about a change in major is because about 50% of the reason I came to the college I currently attend was since it had a graphic design track (which I had originally intended on pursuing). Every time I mention changing my major though, my mom brings up this fact like it's a huge deal if I don't follow through. Right now I'm signed up to take the Intro. to Graphic Design course in the Fall and I'm barely even mildly excited about it. I'm more excited about taking Acting I. Am I worrying about this too much? I just don't want her to be angry with me for not pursuing what I came here for...it's just not what I want anymore. And I mean, I'm here on a scholarship that I earned, it's not like they're paying straight out of pocket for me to be here. Anyway, advice would be nice. Sorry to type so much!
For anyone who has read "The awakening" by Kate Chopin!!!! PLEASEEE PLEASE PLEASEE HELPPP!! :(? Can anyone tell me if this covers as a good description of the story? in the characters point of view... Pleaaaaaase review! thanks to all!!! 10 points - BA!!! Good Morning, My name is Edna Pontellier and I’m here to present myself to you from a novel titled “The Awakening” written by Kate Chopin. I’m going to start with explaining some information about her, that may help you to better understand my story. On February 8th, 1850, In St. Louis Missouri, Catherine O’Flathery was born to a family of 5 children, although both of her sisters died in infancy, and her two brothers died in there twenties. Chopin was sent to attend a Catholic boarding school named The Sacred Heart Academy, when she was five years old. After a few months of attending the academy, her father died in a train accident, and she was sent home to live with her mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who were all widowed. Chopin never had the opportunity to have a father, or any other sort of male figure in her life, which left her surrounded by independent women, of not only her family but also the nuns at her school. This is why she writes mainly of the female freedom. My story begins in the late 1800s in Grand Isle, which is a summer holiday resort. I was visiting and staying at the resort with my two sons, and husband Leonce at the cottages of Madame Lebrun. My husband is kind and I know he loves me, but he was very preoccupied with his work. He has to leave for business trips constantly, and I feel that leaves a empty spot. Although, I cannot say I’m completely lonely because I did spend a lot of time with my friend Mrs. Ratignolle. I learned a lot about expression from her, and I feel more aware of my feelings because of her presence. Another person I spent a great deal of time with was Robert Lebrun, who is the son of Madame Lebrun. We spent a lot of time talking, and walking to the beach. Our relationship was very good, and he was very easy for me to open up to. I believe we began to grow close quickly, and I started to feel more of a person around him. During that time in summer, I remember that I started painting, as I did when I was young. I also learned how to swim that summer. I remember when days passed; I spent more time with Robert. Although I never TOLD him how I felt, the connection was there. I used to get so upset when Leonce came at night, and he was very joyful. I believe he began to see the connection between Robert and I, and as that happened… Robert had left Grand Isle. The summer had ended, and I returned to live in New Orleans, where I resided before the vacation. Back in New Orleans, I continued to paint. I remember when Leonce became worried about my “disobedience and attitude” and he saw a physician to help our family. Doctor Mandelet was an enlightened man, and he accused my changes to the result of an affair, but he hid his suspicions from Léonce. Instead, he told him to let everything play out, because anything else would cause me to rebel. I stayed home alone, while he would go on his business trips. I eventually got tired of being in this lifestyle, with my husband gone and kids gone as well. I decided that I wanted to be free, and independent. I moved into my own home, and still thought of Robert. I met a man named Alcée Arobin who I ended up having an affair with. I never felt emotionally connect with him, therefore I retained my freedom and continued to be independent. I wanted to pursue being an artist. At this point, Mademoiselle Reisz adopted me. She warned me of the sacrifices required of an artist. I visited her often, and I was very fond of her. She became like an inspiration to me. She was the only woman I told of my forbidden love for Robert. She encouraged me to admit to my feelings. Later after, it seemed not very long that Robert came to New Orleans, and he told me his feelings. He told me we couldn’t be together because of Leounce, although… he loved me. I tried to inform him that I was an independent woman now and wanted to live happily with him, but he didn’t agree to it. My friend, Adèle was having a baby and her childbirth was very dangerous therefore I ended up leaving Robert for some time to support my friend, I told him to wait for me. I believe that when I reached her she felt my distance. She reminded me of my kids, and my old lifestyle. Doctor Mandelet had began to urge me to come see him, and just as Adele was, he was worried of my actions. I felt so selfish. When I came home, Robert was gone but had left a note. I became emotional and overwhelemd, and the thoughts of my children, and realizing Robert was not everything I had hoped. I felt so alone, and worthless… I sunk into a depression. I returned to Grand Isle, the summer resort, the site of my awakening. I went out to the sea, for my final escape. I swam through the water, many thoughts racing my head. Eventually exhaustion overtakes my body, and memories overtook me as I fell deep into the sea.
A stripper wants to marry me, Should I do it? So i met her 3 weeks ago at the strip club by the local military base. The dates have been romantic, Ive taken her on a couple picnics, made her breakfast in bed, and we went to New Orleans together on a mini vacation. She has cooked my dinner a few times as well. We didn't even have sex until week 3, which BTW is amazing, Its the kind of thing that you see in porn. I don't exactly have a fat bank account and I'm pretty average looking. I'm 22 and enlisted in the military, and deploying in less than a month. She is 28 she was previously married to someone in the Air Force for 10 years, he cheated, and they divorced. She has five kids. And to my dismay she just told me that she is pregnant with number 6.. about 4 weeks. Its definitely not mine. But it happened before we met. She has never asked me for money, she bring groceries and cooks dinner. Yesterday she invited me on another picnic and she introduced me to her little ones and they are a precious bunch. She wants me to go with her to get married in the morning. I the 5 kids i think i could deal with.. but the fact that she is pregnant with someones kid right now, it kind of puts it over the top. Should i go through with it? I do love her.. but there is alot of baggage. Is it worth the risk?
Family and Husband Problems? Help? Another problem I have is that, I go to school and I'm a housewife with no kids. My hubby works at home and he also doesn't have many males he deals with because he works all the time. He is very anti social which pretty explains everything. My point is My family stays in New Orleans La and I move to georgia a year ago. My hubby isn't a family person but I am.Is it wrong to always go visit my family and old friends once or twice a year for a week or so? He and I always goes to visit his family because they are so close living together, we always go see them. it make s me and my family jealous to know we are only a couple of hours away from his family. like 2/1/2 and my family 7or 8 hrs apart. All the times we go see his family and even so end weekends over adds up to the week I go see them. I know I wouldn't want him to go see his family for a week because he always see's them. and we see them more then we see my family. I tell him he can stay hime and let me catch my 100 dollar train or greyhound just to see my family and that's a problem.
Is it wrong being away from my husband? Okay, I'm a college student, just started going online from onground two yrs ago.I don't have any friends besides my two elementry school friends who are sister and brother and that's it. they stay 600 miles away along with my famiily. I'm 20 yrs of age and married.I only see my family once a yr for a week or two more than lilkely a week if my husband dont pop up to come and get me from out there.. I don't club because I'm not into that and I'm a housewife. My husband works at home so we are around each other 24.7 literally, it dosen't bother me, but what does it that when i get ready to go by my family he makes a big deal out my stay. Now remind you I don't club, I don't have friends I socailize with besides on the phone that stays 600 miles away with my family. I'm in the house all day cooking, cleaning, studying and that's it. When i try to get him to come with me, he has to work etc. but three days later he ;pops up. My husband doesn't have friends becuz he doesn't believe in socailizing with people. he is very anti socail I'm the same way but he is worst. is it wrong for me to go seem my 6 siblings and granddmother, and mother for a week or two. I go once a yr.? we have very strict values where the man work and the wife attent to the home. I believe in thatg and that's how i grew up to know life as is and that how my husband see's it. Some people may say it's a vacation but I don't see it that way. I'm the oldest and i have young sister that I don't want to grow up without being close to. I'm 6 months pregnant and like I said once a yr I may see my family who stay in new orleans la, for a week of two and that's it. and he complains about that! I always ask him but he always have to work, but then 3 or 4 days later he pops up and then we spend time together with the family, and then the whole trip there he is growchy and aggavated because he doesn't like to do the things him my friends and I like to to in my hometown of new orleans. I then try to do things he liks, but if it isn't his way the first time around then there is no way around in making him happy, he siad he will stop popping up, he had some trustt issues and that he doesn't have them anymore because he has grown older. (and no I never gave him a reason to doubt me, it is just his egocentric mind and attitude as a man he is 22 i'm bout to be 21
Suggestions for places to move in the United States? Ok, just to provide a bit of information... Hubby and I are considering moving out of New Orleans, and the biggest reason is the potential for hurricanes. I'm not from this area, and have only lived here for two years, and the yearly hurricane scare is well... scaring the crap out of me. I'm not sure I can live this way my whole life. And since the hurricanes are such a big deal, that basically means anything in the gulf is out automatically. I just don't want to be forced to save up money every year just to run for a little while and come back when I could be putting that money aside for a vacation, or for finally buying a house or something else equally as important. The north where its cold and gets lots of snow is out too, but for different reasons. I was in a major car accident in 2004 that means my balance is not stable anymore, and the ice is simply torture to me. About two years after my accident, I slipped on some ice and tore a ligament in the same leg that I had damaged in the car accident. So ice is not good. Neither is tornado alley. Earthquakes MAY be livable. Here's the thing though. We have limits due to the nature of our jobs. We both work in the hospitality industry, so anywhere we go needs to be a tourist destination so we can find jobs. No we don't intend on this to happen this year. Probably not even the next year. But having a plan for the future would be beneficial.
Bush knew Hurricane Katrina's devestating effects before storm hit New Orleans. How can we impreach him? March 1, 2006 Video Shows Bush Was Warned Before Katrina By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS WASHINGTON (AP)—In dramatic and sometimes agonizing terms, federal disaster officials warned President Bush and his homeland security chief before Hurricane Katrina struck that the storm could breach levees, put lives at risk in New Orleans' Superdome and overwhelm rescuers, according to confidential video footage. Bush didn't ask a single question during the final briefing before Katrina struck on Aug. 29, but he assured soon-to-be-battered state officials: "We are fully prepared." The footage—along with seven days of transcripts of briefings obtained by The Associated Press—show in excruciating detail that while federal officials anticipated the tragedy that unfolded in New Orleans and elsewhere along the Gulf Coast, they were fatally slow to realize they had not mustered enough resources to deal with the unprecedented disaster. Linked by secure video, Bush's confidence on Aug. 28 starkly contrasts with the dire warnings his disaster chief and a cacophony of federal, state and local officials provided during the four days before the storm. A top hurricane expert voiced "grave concerns" about the levees and then-Federal Emergency Management Agency chief Michael Brown told the president and Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff that he feared there weren't enough disaster teams to help evacuees at the Superdome. "I'm concerned about ... their ability to respond to a catastrophe within a catastrophe," Brown told his bosses the afternoon before Katrina made landfall. Some of the footage and transcripts from briefings Aug. 25-31 conflicts with the defenses that federal, state and local officials have made in trying to deflect blame and minimize the political fallout from the failed Katrina response: —Homeland Security officials have said the "fog of war" blinded them early on to the magnitude of the disaster. But the video and transcripts show federal and local officials discussed threats clearly, reviewed long-made plans and understood Katrina would wreak devastation of historic proportions. "I'm sure it will be the top 10 or 15 when all is said and done," National Hurricane Center's Max Mayfield warned the day Katrina lashed the Gulf Coast. "I don't buy the `fog of war' defense," Brown told the AP in an interview Wednesday. "It was a fog of bureaucracy." —Bush declared four days after the storm, "I don't think anybody anticipated the breach of the levees" that gushed deadly flood waters into New Orleans. But the transcripts and video show there was plenty of talk about that possibility—and Bush was worried too. White House deputy chief of staff Joe Hagin, Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco and Brown discussed fears of a levee breach the day the storm hit. "I talked to the president twice today, once in Crawford and then again on Air Force One," Brown said. "He's obviously watching the television a lot, and he had some questions about the Dome, he's asking questions about reports of breaches." —Louisiana officials angrily blamed the federal government for not being prepared but the transcripts shows they were still praising FEMA as the storm roared toward the Gulf Coast and even two days afterward. "I think a lot of the planning FEMA has done with us the past year has really paid off," Col. Jeff Smith, Louisiana's emergency preparedness deputy director, said during the Aug. 28 briefing. It wasn't long before Smith and other state officials sounded overwhelmed. "We appreciate everything that you all are doing for us, and all I would ask is that you realize that what's going on and the sense of urgency needs to be ratcheted up," Smith said Aug. 30. Mississippi begged for more attention in that same briefing. "We know that there are tens or hundreds of thousands of people in Louisiana that need to be rescued, but we would just ask you, we desperately need to get our share of assets because we'll have people dying—not because of water coming up, but because we can't get them medical treatment in our affected counties," said a Mississippi state official whose name was not mentioned on the tape. Video footage of the Aug. 28 briefing, the final one before Katrina struck, showed an intense Brown voicing concerns from the government's disaster operation center and imploring colleagues to do whatever was necessary to help victims. "We're going to need everything that we can possibly muster, not only in this state and in the region, but the nation, to respond to this event," Brown warned. He called the storm "a bad one, a big one" and implored federal agencies to cut through red tape to help people, bending rules if necessary. "Go ahead and do it," Brown said. "I'll figure out some way to justify it. ... Just let them yell at me." Bush appeared from a narrow, windowless room at his vacation ranch in Texas, with his elbows on a table. Hagin was sitting alongside him. Neither asked questions in the Aug. 28 briefing. "I want to assure the folks at the state level that we are fully prepared to not only help you during the storm, but we will move in whatever resources and assets we have at our disposal after the storm," the president said. A relaxed Chertoff, sporting a polo shirt, weighed in from Washington at Homeland Security's operations center. He would later fly to Atlanta, outside of Katrina's reach, for a bird flu event. One snippet captures a missed opportunity on Aug. 28 for the government to have dispatched active-duty military troops to the region to augment the National Guard. Chertoff: "Are there any DOD assets that might be available? Have we reached out to them?" Brown: "We have DOD assets over here at EOC (emergency operations center). They are fully engaged. And we are having those discussions with them now." Chertoff: "Good job." In fact, active duty troops weren't dispatched until days after the storm. And many states' National Guards had yet to be deployed to the region despite offers of assistance, and it took days before the Pentagon deployed active-duty personnel to help overwhelmed Guardsmen. The National Hurricane Center's Mayfield told the final briefing before Katrina struck that storm models predicted minimal flooding inside New Orleans during the hurricane but he expressed concerns that counterclockwise winds and storm surges afterward could cause the levees at Lake Pontchartrain to be overrun. "I don't think any model can tell you with any confidence right now whether the levees will be topped or not but that is obviously a very, very grave concern," Mayfield told the briefing. Other officials expressed concerns about the large number of New Orleans residents who had not evacuated. "They're not taking patients out of hospitals, taking prisoners out of prisons and they're leaving hotels open in downtown New Orleans. So I'm very concerned about that," Brown said. Despite the concerns, it ultimately took days for search and rescue teams to reach some hospitals and nursing homes. Brown also told colleagues one of his top concerns was whether evacuees who went to the New Orleans Superdome—which became a symbol of the failed Katrina response—would be safe and have adequate medical care. "The Superdome is about 12 feet below sea level.... I don't know whether the roof is designed to stand, withstand a Category Five hurricane," he said. Brown also wanted to know whether there were enough federal medical teams in place to treat evacuees and the dead in the Superdome. "Not to be (missing) kind of gross here," Brown interjected, "but I'm concerned" about the medical and mortuary resources "and their ability to respond to a catastrophe within a catastrophe."
Is this true? Welcome to BarryWorld? Anyone as puzzled as I was about all the media hype on our new Administration, or notice the media does not ask our new Administration any challenging questions? There's been a great deal of censorship in the news, and on the Internet, it forums and newspapers in the past few months, and we are losing our freedom of speech quickly.
