people from new orleans: does it annoy you when people refer to new orleans as "nola" or "nawlins"? This might be a kind of stupid question, but it's been bothering me for a while. So, here goes. I'm 14 (girl) and was born in New Orleans. We moved to Baton Rouge when I was like 4, but we drive down there like every other weekend to visit family or go to Tulane/Zephyr games or something. (And I actually know my way around parts of New Orleans better than Baton Rouge). I noticed lately that more and more people at my school are referring to New Orleans as NOLA, like even calling it that in a conversation, and setting facebook statuses as "in NOLA" or "in Nawlinss" and stuff, and for some reason that was like REALLY annoying to me. My whole family is from New Orleans and we know a bunch of people at the Tulane games and nobody I've ever known that's actually from New Orleans has ever said called it "NOLA". It just drives me crazy!! So, like does this bother anybody else? I just kinda find it...annoying because they think everything down there is fun and happy and stuff...and well it's not.

What is with all the AAA Affiliate Changes? A couple weeks ago I read that Wash. Nationals were taking over the Columbus Clippers AAA Club here in Ohio. So what about the Yankees? Did they just switch? I went to NY Yankees and it said Scranton-Wilkes Barre, so I went to Philadelphia and it said Ottawa, huh? Now I was getting dizzy so I went to Baltimore and it said Norfolk Tides so I went to Mets and finally I found the New Orleans Zephyrs. Any more I don't know about? Colin L - I don't need that I have all the MLB teams and their affiliates along with Managers & coaches and keep it updated. I was just surprised so many changes in long time working agreements.

What's your favorite Minor League Baseball team? I like the New Orleans Zephyrs, although the Round Rock Express are fun as well.

Why do minor league teams change affiliates? I remember a few years ago, Houston's minor league teams were the New Orleans Zephyrs for AAA, and Round Rock for AA. Now the Zephyrs are the AAA team for the Marlins, and Round Rock has moved up to AAA. I checked a couple of the minor league teams out, and this seems to happen a lot. Why is that?
