Traveling from New Orleans to New Brunswick? My son is planning to attend Universite` of Moncdon in New Brunswick, Canada, in the spring ,and we are trying to get all the details together. My main question is about means of transportation to get there from New Orleans besides flying. He just doesn't like to fly. We're thinking by way of train but I find the Amtrak website a bit confusing, as far as if you can continue on into Canada. Any other information about living in New Brunswick, about the University, and any good forums or message boards you know of would be great. I'd love to find someone from the US that has been to this college. It is a French speaking university, so he's understandably a bit nervous, yet excited. Merci!

How can I travel across Louisiana? I am planning a trip to LA, and it seems the only flight I can afford flies into the airport in New Orleans. The family I am visiting lives in Clinton, LA, about 2 hours away from New Orleans. I can't seem to find any information on public transportation throughout LA (please let me know if you find any!) What is the best way I can get from New Orleans to Clinton without a car?
Looking for information on Commodore Isaac McKeever and his inventor father, James? Hi, I'm trying to find genealogical information about Isaac McKeever, who was a commodore in the U.S. Navy in the War of 1812. He was born in (sources vary but 1791-1796) in Pennsylvania and died in 1856 in Virginia after a naval career of 47 years. He was married twice. Once to Mary Gamble and once to Sarah St. John and had at least 5 children total. His father, James McKeever, was an immigrant from Scotland who invented some type of machinery that helped steamboats move along the Mississippi River. Although they lived in Philadelphia, James traveled to New Orleans to try out his invention, and died there of yellow fever in 1805. My question is whether or not anyone has any additional information and if there are any good places I could look. I am trying to find more about Isaac's ancestors (finding his mother would be nice) and James's early life. I have tried familysearch.org, rootsweb.com, GoogleBooks, and numerous historical websites. Most of the information I have came from GoogleBooks. Any help would be great! Thanks!

The assassinations of JFK , MLK , RFK. Who do you believe was responsible? John F. Kennedy ( 11 - 22 - 1963 , Dallas , Texas ) I believe Lee Harvey Oswald was part of a conspiracy. He was involved with a group in New Orleans called the " Fair Play for Cuba ". The people in that group were assciated with New Orleans mobster Carlos Marcello. The man that shot Oswald ( Jack Ruby ) had ties to the Mafia. Marcello helped Ruby in his nightclub business in Dallas. I believe 2 or 3 gunmen were involved. 4 shots were fired. Not sure if Oswald was one of the gunmen. The Warren Commission wasn't part of cover-up. The CIA and the FBI withheld information from the commission. Martin Luther King Jr. ( 4 - 4 - 1968 , Memphis , Tennessee ) I don't believe James Earl Ray acted alone. He had to be part of a conspiracy. He brothers say "he wouldn't have done it if it wasn't for money". Ray never shot anyone before. He was a petty criminal. He robbed banks and gas stations. During a robbery , he left his wallet behind. And he never shot anyon with a rifle before. And how could Ray have all of those fake identities and all of that money to travel around the country while ttrying to hide from the police. Some had to be helping him. After Ray was caught, he was pressured to say he did it because he was threatened with the death penalty. The bullet taken from King's body was never positively matched to the rifle found. And another thing , how did the heck would Ray know when King was going to be on that balcony at 5 pm ? It just shows you this was a professional hit. Robert F. Kennedy ( 6 - 6 - 1968 , Los Angeles , California ) I believe Sirhan Sirhan was a programmed assassin. All of his shots missed. The Hotel security guard fired the bullets that hit Kennedy. Sirhan to this day has no memory of the shooting and claims he's inncoent. People that night said Sirhan's eyes looked strange and when he was talked to , he wouldn't reply. As for the security guard , he said he owned the same type of gun Sirhan used. He claims he sold it three months before the assassination. It turns out the gun was sold three months AFTER the assassination. And right after the gun was sold , the guy who bought gun had his house broken into. The gun was stolen. A recently found tape recording is said to haveup to 13 gunshots on it. Sirhan's gun could only hold 8 bullets. More proof of a second gunman involved. I don't know who was responsible for the MLK and RFK assassiantions. But I think the Mafia killed JFK or was somehow involved with Oswald and Ruby. what do you all think ? I also believe LBJ also probably involved in the JFK assassination. Do some research on Lyndon Johnson. The man was more corrupt than Richard Nixon. Johnson is accused of killing his own sister.
Illegal supporters, how long until we start seeing stories like this in every American city? Ethiopian Review Ethiopian News & Opinion Journal Mexican predator arrested by ICE, placed into deportation proceedings ethiopianreview.com | January 8th, 2010 at 6:49 am MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A illegal alien from Mexico, who had served a prison term for sexual battery of a child, was arrested on Wednesday by officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and placed into deportation proceedings. Ignacio McDonald-Lopez, 47, was arrested as a result of the Joint Criminal Alien Removal Taskforce, which focuses on identifying, locating and arresting criminal aliens. McDonald-Lopez pleaded guilty in a Tennessee court in August 2000 to aggravated sexual battery and was later sentenced to 10 years in prison. ICE’s local Fugitive Operations Team arrested McDonald-Lopez Jan. 6 after receiving information from the Board of Probation and Parole regarding his impending release from prison. McDonald-Lopez is currently in ICE custody and is awaiting deportation. Aliens with aggravated felony convictions, such as McDonald-Lopez, who re-enter the United States after having been formally deported, commit a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison. “ICE will continue using its unique immigration authorities to identify and arrest those who present a threat to our community,” said Philip Miller, field office director for ICE’s Office of Detention and Removal Operations in New Orleans. “Criminals in Tennessee should be on notice, because we will find you and bring you to justice.” This case was part of Operation Predator, which is a nationwide ICE initiative to protect children from sexual predators, including those who travel overseas for sex with minors, Internet child pornographers, criminal alien sex offenders, and child sex traffickers. Since Operation Predator was launched in July 2003, ICE agents have arrested almost 12,000 individuals. ICE encourages the public to report suspected child predators and any suspicious activity through its toll-free hotline at 1-866-DHS-2ICE. This hotline is staffed around the clock by investigators.
Big time slots between connecting Amtrak Trains? I have never traveled by train before, but I was just trying to get more information about it. For instance - If the Amtrak train schedule shows me getting into New Orleans, LA at 7:30pm but my connecting train to San Antonio doesn't leave until 11am the next day.. .. What are you supposed to do for that 15 hrs in between?? Am I supposed to budget for a hotel too? I'm confused. I thought the trains didn't really stop running.. Like you just jump from one train to the other within an hour or so and go on your merry way.. Can someone please enlighten me about the whole Amtrak experience? Thank you.
